What to Expect
- Breast Exam
During your breast exam, Dr. Meaux will check your breasts for signs of any potential problems, such as a lump. She will conduct a thorough clinical inspection of each breast, following a systematic pattern to ensure a comprehensive assessment. You may also be shown how to perform monthly self-examinations.
- Pelvic Exam
During your pelvic exam, Dr. Meaux will check your vagina, cervix, and pelvic organs. With your feet resting in the stirrups, she will gently insert a speculum into the vagina to see the cervix and surrounding tissue. She will then place one or two gloved, lubricated fingers into the vagina while pressing on your abdomen to feel the size, position, and shape of your uterus and ovaries. This may feel a bit uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t hurt.
- Pap Smear
