Hormonal balance in women can be very challenging, as changes in one area of the body can impact others.  Uncovering imbalances and why they are occurring takes time and is not always simply fixed by a quick prescription.  This plan is designed to restore balance and harmony by identifying where the issues are and correcting them through the use of nutrients, supplements, and customized bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.  Hormone levels are carefully monitored throughout treatment and supported with recommendations for lifestyle changes and additional supplements when needed.

*Additional testing and appointments may apply at additional cost (ex. gut health, metabolites, mitochondrial testing, cardiometabolic profiles, repeating of cortisol levels, etc.) if needed along the way. Dr. Meaux has education on the advanced functional medicine tests and treatment regimens that allow her to work deeper with patients who are enrolled in her hormone program, but have concerns in other areas or organ systems that may also contribute to difficulties in balancing the body.

How Did I Get This? What Can I Do?

Overview

Are you under 40 and suffering with gynecologic symptoms such as PMS, painful or heavy cycles or infertility?  Have you been diagnosed with ovarian cysts, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids?** Are you looking for alternative treatment options besides standard prescriptions or birth control pills? There are ways to potentially identify the root cause for what ails you that conventional medicine testing will not uncover.  By finding where issues are originating from and correcting them, we can allow the body to begin to heal itself and restore well-being.  In cases such as endometriosis and fibroids, this could lessen the overall recurrence rate or extend the time to recurrence.

What's Included in This Program:

Your experience begins with an in-depth, one-hour health assessment to establish your baseline and identify your specific wellness goals.
Following your diagnostics, you will receive a dedicated lab review appointment and a clinical plan that integrates prescriptions, lifestyle changes, and supplement protocols.
Access professional-grade supplement recommendations tailored to your chemistry, including exclusive member discounts on pharmaceutical-quality products.
To ensure your treatment is performing optimally, the program includes a scheduled follow-up visit typically three to four months after your plan is initiated.
Benefit from ongoing clinical guidance and support throughout your entire six-month program to help you stay on track and achieve your health milestones.
To provide the most accurate care, all required laboratory testing is tailored specifically to your unique health profile and billed separately from the program fee.

** Since Dr Meaux is a highly skilled robotic surgeon with over 400 cases, discounts are available to patients who have undergone recent surgery (last 90 days) with her.  This would include surgery for endometriosis diagnosis and treatment, fibroid resection, ovarian cyst surgery, and hysterectomy.  New personalized medicine patients are potentially only accepted into the insurance- based practice for surgical needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conventional (aka insurance-based medicine):  was essentially created to treat acute care and chronic conditions, and despite the addition of “screening” tests, tends to remain the same today.  Conventional medicine tends to look at organs separately when evaluating patients, instead of considering how one organ system can impact another.  Standard lab testing is mostly used to diagnose conditions and lists “normal” reference ranges, not optimal levels. Treatment involves the use of prescription medications where dosing is determined by current guidelines or algorithms of treatment, and adjusted based on patient response or side effects.  With specific regard to hormones, lab testing for dosing is not usually beneficial since it may not be the appropriate way to monitor all forms of treatment, and prescriptions have limited doses to choose from.  For many patients, this level of care is enough.

Personalized medicine:  is a more tailored approach of customized healthcare to evaluate patients, diagnose and treat conditions, and identify what is potentially limiting optimal health.  Considered to be “root cause” medicine, the goal is to identify imbalances in the body, whether hormonal, gut-related or other, and correct them. Testing takes into account conventional labs, but also utilizes advanced laboratory tests where results can be used to optimize health and direct treatment. Dosing of medications, such as bioidentical hormones, can then be determined from these labs, and altered based on a patient’s individual and specific response, not just based on algorithm medicine or what is currently “trendy” to do. For those who are otherwise healthy, personalized medicine also provides a guided pathway for risk reduction and health maintenance.

Outside of preventive screenings, insurance-based care is really sick care. Also, the goals of the health insurance industry are not always in alignment with personalized medicine. For these reasons, we are unable to accept insurance for any of these services.  However, patients can use HSA, FSA, or other medically-directed funds to pay for services.

In order to obtain pricing, we request that you fill out the form below.  One of our staff will reach out to you within 2-3 business days.  Please do not call the office, as we will re-direct you to our site here.

This depends on the individual. Most patients should budget $200-300 in the first few months for medications and supplements. Pricing for packages can be obtained by contacting the office using the form below.

That’s ok!  We can still evaluate you whether you are on conventional or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy.  However, due to the difficulties we have witnessed in attempting to balance hormones in women who utilize pellet therapy, we are not accepting patients who have used hormone pellet therapy in the past 2-3 years

That depends. Some patients will notice quicker results than others based on what imbalances are identified. However, let’s be clear.  This is not “quick fix” medicine, so if that is what you are seeking, this program is not for you.

Yes.  Maintenance plans are available in order to continue lifelong well-being and influence long-term health.

That depends on the individual needs of the patient.  We have a variety of advanced, high quality, functional medicine tests that we utilize in order to obtain the most accurate results for treatment recommendations and dosing.

Complete the form below and our staff will contact you to schedule. (insert link)

Unfortunately, no.  In order to allow room for this unique level of care, Dr. Meaux is unable to accept personalized medicine patients into her already established insurance-based practice. Exceptions can be made for patients requiring surgery, since Dr Meaux is skilled in advanced robotic gynecologic procedures (minimally invasive surgery).
